Horseshoe Toss and Garden Games: A Classic Contest Day on the Lawn
On 10 August 2026 we set up horseshoe toss, hat hooks and classic country games in a company garden. Wooden boards, handmade sets and a friendly rivalry that started in the cool of the morning.
Horseshoe toss is a classic country game where you throw horseshoes from a few metres away and try to ring a stake in the ground. A ringer scores highest, and a shoe landing close still counts. Simple rules, long-lasting rivalry.
How do you set up a garden games area?
On 10 August 2026 we finished the setup early in the morning; when participants arrived, the lawn was lined with stations marked by wooden boards. Next to the horseshoe toss we placed a hat-hook board and other classic games, each with its own sign and score.
