Cocktail Workshop in a Hotel Ballroom: Mint, Shakers and Teamwork
On 15 October 2026 we ran a cocktail workshop in a hotel ballroom: our bartender led from the front and participants mixed their own drinks with mint and fruit.

A cocktail workshop is a hands-on team activity where a professional bartender first demonstrates the techniques, then participants make their own cocktails at their stations by muddling, shaking and straining. It can also be run alcohol-free.

How do you set up a cocktail workshop in a hotel ballroom?
On 15 October 2026 we arranged the tables in a U shape in the ballroom, with our bartender's black counter in the middle and a projection screen behind it. Signify and Philips roll-up banners stood in the room. On every table we laid out fresh mint, pineapple, limes, strawberries, bottles of sparkling water, tall glasses, shakers, strainers and green chopping boards.

Our bartender first introduced the ingredients and tools from the front, then went from table to table to show the technique up close. Standing at their own stations, participants sliced fruit, muddled mint and filled their glasses.
Why is a cocktail workshop a good team activity?
Because everyone learns and creates at the same time. Ingredients are shared across the table and a recipe one person discovers travels to the next station. When run in teams, a jury round judged on taste, presentation and showmanship can be added. Format details are on our Cocktail Workshop page.
