Squid Game Event at a Hotel: Ballroom Setup Guide
How do you set up a Squid Game event in a hotel ballroom? A practical guide to floor layout, screens and sound, hotel coordination, station plan and flow.

A Squid Game event at a hotel turns a ballroom or meeting hall into a game arena divided into stations within a few hours. With the right layout, a team of 20 or a congress group of several hundred can play in the same hall without waiting.
Companies that are already at a hotel for a congress, dealer meeting or year-end gathering often choose this format: no transport, no weather risk, and once the game is over the team goes straight to dinner. In this guide we walk through the hall setup step by step.
What kind of hotel hall does a Squid Game event need?
The first thing we look for is a floor without columns that can be cleared. Red Light Green Light, the glass bridge and the rope coordination game need open space, while ddakji and dalgona are played at round tables. So it is enough to free part of the hall from theatre or gala seating and move the tables to the sides. Ceiling height and projection screens also matter: as the video shows, Squid Game visuals running on the screens pull the room into the atmosphere from the first minute.

How do you lay out the stations in a ballroom?
- In front of the stage: mascot and host area. Rules are explained here and the medal ceremony takes place here.
- Central area: a wide strip left empty for Red Light Green Light and tug of war.
- Side areas: floor stations such as the glass bridge mat and the rope coordination game.
- Table island: round tables for ddakji, dalgona and marbles, where waiting teams play.
- Score desk: the point where the team scoreboard is updated and projected on screen.
What should you agree with the hotel in advance?
- Setup and teardown times: when the hall will be free after the previous session.
- Loading access and lifts: which route the mats, mascot and equipment take into the hall.
- Sound and vision: whether the hotel's own sound system and projector will be used or an extra LED screen is brought in.
- Table layout: how many tables stay during the game and how the dinner setup will be restored.
- Refreshment break: a coffee break placed in the middle or at the end of the game.

How does a Squid Game event at a hotel run?
At registration, participants receive number badges and are split into teams. The host explains the rules and Red Light Green Light gets the whole hall on its feet at once as the first game. Teams then rotate between stations, the final is played as a team game and the event closes with a medal ceremony. Our programme runs 2 to 3 hours for groups of 20 to 500; for larger groups we multiply the stations.
